Canterbury Art Exhibition

Just updating my post below, thank you for all the wonderful people that purchased my paintings, I am so honoured that you would buy and display my work in your homes, I am hoping to be a part of this fantastic exhibition next year, it truly was a great experience......



Hi everyone,
This year I have been lucky enough to have been selected to exhibit in the Canterbury Art Exhibition so I'm pretty chuffed, it's my first Canterbury show!

I'm amongst some fantastic artists/illustrators including Lisa Coutts, Anna Walker, Mitch Vane, Annie White, just to name but a few of the many artists that exhibit in this awesome show.

Here are the details, get along if you can, also below are my submission pieces ranging from small to large canvases (acrylic and collage)

Canterbury Primary School

Molesworth Street

Canterbury Victoria 3126

When:
Opening Night Friday 3^rd May from 8pm – 11pm.

Entry fee of $45 includes all food, entertainment, catalogue and weekend entry.

Saturday 4^th May from 10am – 5pm.

Sunday 5^th May from 10am – 4pm (Family Day).

Weekend Entry fee is $5 for adults and children are free. The café and gift shop will be open all weekend and children’s activities will be offered at Family Day on Sunday

All works of art are sold on a commission basis with the proceeds directly benefiting Canterbury Primary School.

A little drawing on a Sunday afternoon......

I was walking home one evening from a friends place a took this photo of a gorgeous sunflower.
It was such a clear image that i couldn't wait to capture it in lead!

It's not often nowadays i get some serious absorbing drawing time in (when it's not for a client that is), and i throughly enjoyed this, can't wait till i can do it again.

My new website

I'm very happy to announce my nice new website that Martin from Still Moving Design has helped me with, it's neat and clean and does everything i need for the moment, I will be adding to and changing things around here and there but i couldn't be happier, it looks FAB!!! Thanks Marty

New Children's book!

This is a lovely little book written by Mark and Penny Bolton (Henny and Red), I have just finished the illustrations, here are a couple, it was fun to do and they were great to work with.

Illustrators Australia 9X5 Exhibition

Come along on Friday night for the 17th IA 9X5 'CARNIVALE' exhibition where you will be amazed at the artwork hand created on 9x5 inch wood! All original and all for sale. It'a a great evening which includes silent Auction and to top it off we have fantastic carnivale performers! Come a get yourself a piece of Australian illustration history.
OPENING NIGHT Friday 9th November 6pm-9pm
Then the gallery is open on Sat 10th and Sunday 11th from 11am-3pm with for the first time an awesome illustrators market place, including prints, cards, originals, jewellery, toys and many more pressies for Christmas! Pass it on.............

Grounds of the Wyreena Gallery

Here are some snaps I took while my paintings were being hung by the gorgeous Tracy - the grounds of the beautiful Wyreena gallery. If you get the Maroondah Weekly or Maroondah leader newspaper keep your eye open for some photos of the exhibition too!

Tomorrow I deliver all my paintings to Wyreena Gallery in Croydon, the exhibition opens Wednesday at 9am and runs for the month of October. I'm there every Saturday if you want to pop by to say hi!

Also this is a picture of the window display at Hill of Content Bookshop in Bourke St, Melbourne, where the poster I illustrated hangs, it is a beautiful bookshop, you must pay a visit!!!

Solo show at Wyreena Exhibition - starts 3rd October

Starts Wednesday 3rd October and runs until Saturday 27th October.

Here are some of my communities animals ready to depart to Croydon, still many more scattered throughout the house.

I'm back!!

Hiya, well after traveling to Thailand for a couple of weeks, checking out everything i could, mainly the pools!, i have returned with renewed excitement.

On the weekend we held the IA seminar which included speakers such as:
Serena Geddes, Sonia Kretschmar, Chris Nielsen, Douglas Holgate and Stuart McLachlan and i have to say it was AWESOME!! - they were terrific, and it was once again a great spot to have it in the music auditorium at NMIT Fairfield.
The feedback we have received at IA has been fantastic.

So what' next, well I am currently working on a children's book and also my upcoming exhibition of paintings at Wyreena Gallery in Croydon, after last year i was lucky enough to be asked back! Excitement! So a touch busy and loving it!

Hill of Content Bookshop catalogue

When i was asked to illustrator the cover for the lates childrens book catalogue by the Hill of Content Bookshop i didn't hesitate, they are great supporters of illustrators and authors, and they are also super nice guys! It was a really nice project to work on, it will be out in October with a bookmark and poster.
